Abstract

Over the last decades, there has been a welcome increase in the range and amount of real-time intralingual subtitling in different contexts. As a result, viewers with hearing impairments now have access to a far wider choice of information.
Even if there is now a growing quantity of real-time intralingual subtitling, quality remains uneven. This event will first introduce the importance of research in establishing quality standards in accessibility services for different working contexts. Then, endusers from different associations will explain their work in protecting the rights of their users. Finally, professionals from different working contexts will present current practices in real-time intralingual subtitling.
